The Days of Quarantine

Rose is the one who could tell stories. In recent years I have treasured the stories she was able to tell me about my parents - she knew them long before I did! One story I treasure is of a time when the Eash family was under quarantine for some health reason. Many, she said, were afraid for their own health and did not come close. She remembered with respect and gratitude that my mom and dad would drive up (in the 1936 Plymouth?), my mom would get out of the car, call out that she was placing a kettle of food on the porch, then get back in the car. One of the Eashes could then go out and get it. A kid - of any age - likes to hear stories of that sort about their parents...
