Life Story for Rose Elmyra Eash (Moranduzzo)

Rose Elmyra  Eash (Moranduzzo)
EASH – Rose Elmyra (Moranduzzo), 98, Speigle Road, Hollsopple, went to be with her Lord July 28, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 18, 1911, in Mineral Point, daughter of George and Clorinda Virginia (Ghezzi) Moranduzzo. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Basil Joseph Petet; husband of nearly 72 years, John E. Eash Sr., on Jan. 2, 2002; an infant granddaughter; great-grandson, Johnny Blough, brothers, George, Lewis and Albert Moranduzzo and Lawrence Petet; and sisters, Lena Moranduzzo, Elda (Petet) Lichvar and Emma (Petet) Good. Survived by children, the Rev. John E. Eash, Jr. married to former Wilma Berkey, Hollsopple; Laurence D., married to former Bernice Hershberger, York; Arbutus, married to John A. Blough, Hollsopple; and Dr. Violette Eash, Huntington, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leora Petet, Hollsopple; brother-in-law, Clyde Good, Davidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Former employee of F.W. Woolworth Co. and Princess Ann of Delaware factory. Lifelong member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, near Jerome, where she was a charter member of the Loyal Bible Class, Women’s Fellowship, Ladies Aid and served as Sunday School teacher and choir member. Also a member of the Conemaugh Township Historical Society and the WCTU. Rose enjoyed writing poetry. In 1997, her book of poems entitled, Rose Petals, was published. One of her writings also appeared in Good Old Days magazine. She also would write poems upon request for special occasions. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 1 p.m. until time of service 2 p.m. Saturday at Maple Spring Church, with the Rev. Guy Myers and the Rev. Roger Forry, presiding. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
