Donald R.  Keim Sr.
KEIM – Donald R. Sr., 65, Thomas Road, Jenner Township, Somerset County, died peacefully Jan. 6, 2015, at home after fighting a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Feb. 11, 1949, in Johnstown, son of the late John Sheldon Keim Sr. and Iona (Peterson) Keim. Survived by wife of 39 years, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Dohoda; son, Donald Jr., married to Mandy Heilmann, Richland; daughter, Barbara, at home; grandchildren, Katie and Nicolas; sisters, Bonnie, married to Robert Alwine, Jenner Township; Shelby, married to Rodger Mack, Bedford; and Marjorie, married to Brian Bittner, Ralphton; brother, John S. Jr., married to Cheryl Campbell, Salix; mother- and father-in-law, Vilma and John Dohoda, Jerome; brothers-in-law, Tom Dohoda, and wife, Cece, Pittsburgh; and Larry Dohoda, and wife, Sharon, Jenners; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A 1968 graduate of the former Jenner-Boswell High School. Former steel worker with 45 years of service, having initially worked for U.S. Steel, Johnstown, and retiring from Johnstown Speciality Steel. Don enjoyed his family, the family cottage, flea markets, car shows and his Thunderbird Convertable. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Pastor Frank Young, officiating.
