Great friend

I don't even know where to begin. I lived across the street from Hack when my Dad pastored the Jerome Nazarene church. He was the absolute best & his Mom too. He bought my daughter her stroller after she was born & someplace I have a picture of him pushing her in the stroller theough the house. He called my Dad "Rev", he called me "Birchbark" & my daughter he called "Little Birchbark". I remember him literally rolling on the grass laughing at stories my Dad would tell....he loved hanging out & listening to his stories. I remember helping him hunt for his dog one time, only to see the poor thing staggering down the street from a large garden plot & he & Mom planted. The dog had drank from the pans of beer they put out to kill slugs or something.....I have so many wonderful memories of Hack. And some sad ones. I remember how hard he took it when Danny (Sonny) Jones was killed in a car accident. His family & friends meant the world to him. He was so bummed when I told him we were moving to Florida. I was back a couple times early on & always made time to stop to see him briefly but sadly, I haven't been back in many years & never stayed in touch with him. I am so sad to hear he is gone.
