MILLER – Verna E. (Bracken), 82, Jerome, died Feb. 27, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 16, 1931, in Jerome, daughter of Michael and Anna Louise (Urban) Bracken. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Ralph W. Miller, on Jan. 7, 1970; daughter, Mary Louise Miller, on July 31, 2011; sister, Anna Louise Fabert; and brother, Michael “Buddy.” Survived by children, Ralph Michael Miller, married to Kimberly Lopez; and Kathryn “Kay” Stiffler, both of Westmont; grandchildren, Michael Miller-Burns and Michaela Miller, both living at home with Verna; Joshua and Jessica Miller; and Kyle Stiffler; great-grandchildren, Arianna and Taylor, also at home with Verna; and Hunter, Aiden, Sage, Jayden and Sawyer; sister, Mary “Sis” Negast, and husband, Fred, Texas; and goddaughter, Vickie Massmann. Longtime member of the former Holy Cross Catholic Church and member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville. Retired employee, having worked for Mine Health & Safety Administration, black lung division. Viewing will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s church, the Rev. Father Michael Lewandowski, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.
