GARY - Sara “Trudy” G. (Deist), 81, Wolcottville, Ind., formerly of Jenner Township, died March 5, 2010, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. Born March 11, 1928, in Jenner Township, daughter of John L. and Frances M. (Janeczek) Deist. Preceded in death by parents; husband Jonas M. “Little Wheels” on June 18, 1993; twin grandsons William and John Palmer; sister Dorothy Theil; and brothers Charles “Bob,” William and Joseph Deist; and an infant brother. Survived by children: John married to former Rosalie Magazzu, Jenner Township; Martin married to former Shirley Naylor, Shawboro, N.C.; S. Jay married to former Edie Schropp, Jenner Crossroads; Sally married to Daniel Yutzy, Boswell; Barbara married to Leland Kauffman, Boswell; J. Dean married to former Barbara Coley, Limestone, Tenn.; and Doris Palmer and companion George Long, Wolcottville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: John and wife Stella, Johnstown; George and wife Sue, Sipesville; Glenn, New Cumberland; and sisters: Helen married to Woody Lucas, Gray; and Peg married to Dave Hayes, Buffalo, Wyo. Former employee of Green Gables Restaurant, Jennerstown and Hunter’s Market and Beckner’s Market, Boswell. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and taking boat rides with Doris and George. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Dennis L. Doebler presiding. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Boswell, PA 15531 to help defray funeral expenses.
