SHUBIC – John, 90, Chicago, Ill., formerly of Jenners, died Dec. 16, 2015. Born Feb. 12, 1925, in Belltown, son of John and Pauline (Pelesky) Shubik. Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Angela (Roti) Shubic; sisters, Helen O’Connor, Evelyn Lesko and Anna Telenko; and brothers, Joseph Shubick and Samuel Shubik. Loving father of Mike Shubic, Denver, Colo.; and Pauline, married to Carl Oberland, Chicago, Ill. Dear grandfather of Audrey, married to John Paul Carroll; and Zachary and Dana Oberland. Also survived by sister-in-law, Yole (Gusmerotti) Shubick, Jerome; and numerous nieces, nephews and stepgrandchildren. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, with Deacon Jay Pyle presiding. Inurnment, St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Jenners, with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Martin DePorres House of Hope, 6423 S.
