John G. "Yush" Wozniak
WOZNIAK – John G. “Yush”, 74, Boswell, died February 28, 2017 at In Touch Hospice, Somerset. Born September 16, 1942 in Gray. Son of John J. and Anne I. (DelSignore) Wozniak. Preceded in death by parents and sister-in-law Beverly Yoder. Survived by loving companion of 30 years Carol (Blucas) Vish; son Eric married to Michelle (Fisher) Vish, Jenners; cherished grandchildren Hana and Max Vish; sisters Connie married to Patrick Madigan, Somerset and Linda Wozniak, Pittsburgh; brother David Wozniak, Philadelphia; Carol’s family, Pam married to Ralph Esposita, Ralphton; Kathy married to Greg Miller, Hooversville; Fran married to Steve Furman, Acosta and Janet married to Joe Hegadus, Ralphton. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A 1960 graduate of JBJ Joint High School, Boswell where he lettered in football. A U.S. Navy SeaBee veteran of the Vietnam Era. Retired Welder for Lincoln Contracting. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Boswell Post 461 American Legion, Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Jerome Nest 556 Polish Falcons. Yush was a passionate cook and model train enthusiast. An avid Penn State and Pittsburgh sports fan. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He enjoyed fishing and going to camp where he cooked for all the guys. The family would like to thank Roxanne from Conemaugh Home Health and the staff at In-Touch Hospice and UPMC Shadyside 7 West for all their compassionate care. Viewing from 2-8PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a vigil for the deceased will be held 2PM Friday. Funeral Mass 10AM Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church, Boswell with Rev. Fr. John Voytek, OFM Conv., celebrant. Committal Husband Cemetery, Somerset with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
