SHUMAKER – Kathern M. (Mitchell), 78, Confluence, formerly of Jerome, died Oct. 5,2014, at Comforts of Home, Confluence. Born July 24, 1936, in Johnstown, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Webb) Mitchell. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Mark A.; and brother, Kenneth Mitchell. Survived by children, Patty, married to Emanuel “Manny” Coleman Jr., Jerome; Timothy, and companion, Krista Weatherly, Smithfield, Va.; Barbara Ann Shumaker, Somerset; and Mike, and wife, Amy, Hooversville; grandchildren, Jennifer Stouffer, and companion, Mike Everett, Jerome; Emanuel “Budd” Coleman III, and wife, Kayla, Johnstown; Mary Ann Landis, and fiance, Jason Seifert, Somerset; Joshua Hill, Ohio; and Mark and Ryan Shumaker, both of Hooversville; great-grandchildren, Travis Thomas, Alayleiah and Heaven Coleman; and Carter Seifert; sisters, Lavina, widow of Howard Will, Manns Choice; and Deloris, married to Irvin Blough, Berlin; brother, Harry Mitchell, Friedens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathern worked by caring for the elderly and cleaning homes for other people. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time outdoors. Viewing will be held from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, Pastor Denise Todero, presiding.
