SHAULIS – Roger G., 63, Hollsopple, passed away unexpectedly, February 10, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 25, 1953 in Somerset. Preceded in death by father Paul A. Shaulis, Sr. Survived by mother Anna Mae Shaulis, Davidsville; wife of 43 years Karen Shaulis; sons Justin, New York City; Ryan and wife Danielle, Altoona and Joshua and wife Christine, Windber; fondly known as Poppy to his 3 precious grandchildren Aidan, Cole and Kayla; brother of Paul Shaulis, Jr. and wife Janet, Johnstown; David Shaulis and wife Cyndi and Susan married to Charles Yoder, both of Hollsopple and Nancy married to Chris Thomas, Richland. A U.S. Air Force veteran. Retired U.S. Postal Service letter carrier for the Johnstown office where he worked for 34 years and received the Million Mile Safety Club award. Member of National Association of Letter Carriers and lifetime member of the DAV. Roger was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a do-it-yourself guy who could build and fix anything. Most importantly he was a Godly family man who always placed others needs ahead of his own and was loved by legions of people. The family would like to thank the staff of ICU 6 Ashman at Memorial Medical Center for all their compassionate care during this difficult time. Viewing from 4-8PM Monday and from 10AM until time of service 11AM Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville with Rev. Galen Shoff presiding.
