SPIKER - Brenda Jo “Bubby” (Peterson), 56, Somerset died June 15, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born August 30, 1959 in Somerset. Daughter of Donald “Red” and Glenda Kay (Knupp) Peterson. Preceded in death by father, niece Abigail Peterson and father-in-law and mother-in-law Lawrence and Dixie Spiker. Survived by mother, Stoystown; husband Douglas Spiker; son Shawn Spiker; granddaughter McKenzi Jo Spiker; sisters Chris married to Jerry Adder, Somerset; Holly married to Lloyd Purbaugh, Somerset and Dawn married to Sonny Durst, Davidsville; brother Brad Peterson married to Gina (Fisher), Sipesville; brothers-in-law Mike Spiker and wife Teresa, Somerset; Danny Spiker, Somerset and Mark Spiker and wife Katie, Somerset; sisters-in-law Caryoln married to Donnte Romesburg, Rockwood and Teresa married to Bill Sheehan, Hooversville and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1977 graduate of North Star High School. She loved spending time with children and operated a daycare from her home for over 38 years. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and being outside, especially at the beach and Deep Creek Lake. Brenda was always willing to help anyone in need. Friends received from 2-8PM Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell. Friends will also be received from 5PM until time of funeral service at 6PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Michael A. Dunlap presiding.
