HENRY – Mahala Jane (Brehm), 88, Hollsopple, died Jan. 19, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 23, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of Wilder and Mahala (Lavely) Brehm. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 46 years and her high school sweetheart, Harry Henry Jr., on Dec. 1, 1992; an infant daughter; son, Vernon; seven brothers; and three sisters. Survived by children, Harry III, and wife, Helen, Cranberry Township; David, and wife, Suzanne, Johnstown; John, and wife, Darlene, New Castle, Del.; Kenneth, and wife, Connie, Friedens; Mylene, and husband, Sam Kendall, Hooversville; Chris, and wife, Laura, Stoystown; James, and wife, Katrina, Jenners; and Robert, and wife, Christina, Stoystown; 20 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren; and daughter- in-law, Cecelia Henry, Pittsburgh; also numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A graduate of Boswell High School. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed baking, cooking and watching the wildlife in her yard, having chased a few bears from her porch. A very giving person, she always put others ahead of herself and never complained about anything. She was also known to be very thrifty. Mahala’s life was all about family. She was the center of her family’s wheel that kept all the spokes together. Viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Maple Spring Church, the Rev. Guy Myers and the Rev. Doug Burns, presiding. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
