Caroline B.  Lohr (Hegadus)
LOHR – Caroline B. (Hegadus), 81, Hooversville, died Sept. 17, 2015, at her home. Born Nov. 16, 1933, in Johnstown, daughter of Lewis and Caroline (Laslo) Hegadus. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 46 years, Donald J. Lohr on April 20, 2013; brother, Joseph Hegadus; and sisters-in-law, Marian Lohr, Margaret Lohr Virginia Border and Patricia Hegadus. Survived by sons, Richard D. Lohr, Hooversville, and Herbert A. Lohr, married to Anne (Longenberger), Strasburg; grandchildren, Megan M. Lohr, Dillsburg, and Michael D. Lohr, Enola. Sister of Lewis, and wife, Barbara, Shanksville; Annie, married to Joseph Polacek, Daisytown; Dorothy, married to John Hudy, Brooklyn, Ohio; and Ted, and wife, Linda, Windber. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A 1952 graduate of Johnstown High School. Past employee of former Bestform Foundations, Johnstown. Member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Past Worthy Matron for Anna L. Windolph Chapter 495, Order of Eastern Star and past Royal Matron for Order of the Amaranth Inc., Jeannette Court 25. A former inspector for the Paint Township Election Board. Caroline enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where OES service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, with Pastor Nila Cogan presiding. Interment, Custer Cemetery. Donations in Caroline’s memory may be sent to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 1439 Ridge Road, Hooversville, Pa. 15936.
