Wilford R.  Saylor
SAYLOR – Wilford R., 87, Jenner Township, died Sept. 2, 2015, at his home. Born July 4, 1928, in Johnstown, son of Samuel S. and Orpha (East) Saylor. Preceded in death by parents and daughter-in-law, Janet (Krouse) Saylor. Survived by wife of 66 years, the former Elizabeth Weaver; children, the Rev. Richard W., married to the Rev. Janet Maxwell, Silver Lake, Kan.; Rosellen B., married to Tim Lehman, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County; Jayni L., married to Gary Blough; and Jeffrey P., married to Cynthia Knisely, both of Jenner Township; and William R., married to Esther McKeown, Somerset; grandchildren, Heather, Nicholas, Gregory, Halie and Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Brayden, Peyton, Gracelynne, Faithlynne and Mason. A 1946 graduate of the former Boswell High School. A longtime, very active member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church. Past member of local school boards for 12 years, Helping Hands food pantry and the pantry board, Camp Allegheny Board and Jenner Crossroads Cemetery Association. Former employee of Boswell Lumber Co., with 39 years, and Berlin Lumber Co., with eight years. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell. Viewing also will be held from 3:30 p.m. until time of service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Jennerstown United Methodist Church, Pastor Chuck F. Hildbold Jr. and Pastor Barry K. Ritenour, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Boswell Food Pantry, c/o Georgia Sheftic, 2811 Lincoln Highway, Stoystown, Pa. 15563.
