THOMAS - Ida Belle “Nanny” (Hanlin) Thomas, 96, The Patriot, Somerset, formerly of Jenner Township, died April 6, 2015 at the Patriot. Born June 20, 1918 in Jenner Township, the daughter of Robert and Emma (Horner) Hanlin. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 55 years, Jay S. Thomas on July 27, 1995; infant brother and sister; and sisters, Martha Ream and Grace Welty. Survived by daughter, Dixie married to Wayne Friedline, Jenner Township; grandsons, Jeff and wife Lori, Jenner Township, and Mike and wife Michelle, Boswell; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Dylan, Tanner, Shania and Austin; and several nieces and nephews. A 1937 graduate of Ferndale High School. Member of former Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. Employee of former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell. In her spare time, Nanny enjoyed sewing and watching television.Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Friday, at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Traci Bowman presiding. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jenner Township.
