GOWARTY – Bernard E., 71, formerly of Boswell, died March 15, 2015, at Country Manor Living, Jerome. Born Dec. 14, 1943, in Jenners, son of Arthur Sr. and Jennie (Soha) Gowarty. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 40 years, former Roberta “Bucky” (Begley), Nov. 3, 2004; and sister, Shirley. Survived by sons, Mark, married to Tara Bosserman, Johnstown, and Matthew, married to Sherry Haag, Boyds, Md.; and loving grandchildren, Kristen, Andrew, Alex and Katherine. Brother of Blanche, widow of John Conzatti, Jerome; Arthur Jr., Jenners; Edward, married to Patricia Ewing, Jerome; Tom; and Wayne “Tubby,” both of Jenners. A 1961 graduate of former JBJ Joint High School, where he lettered in football and wresting. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Retired employee of former Bethlehem Steel Corp. Member of Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Avid supporter of the North Star Wrestling Boosters, where he enjoyed selling 50/50 tickets. Enjoyed sharing his fried fish with family and friends, casino trips and Tuesday night bingo in Jerome. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. David C. McGee, officiating. Interment at a later date at St. James Cemetery with graveside military honors. Family thanks Country Manor for their love and care.
