Donald N.  Thomas
THOMAS – Donald N., 85, Arbutus Park Manor, Richland, formerly of Maple Spring Road, Hollsopple, went to be with the Lord March 11, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Richland. Born Dec. 16, 1929, in Thomasdale, son of Edgar and Kathryn (Willie) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents and grandson, Donald Scott Thomas. Survived by wife of 63 years, Doris A. (Brown) Thomas; sons, Alan B., married to Lois (Dunmyer) Thomas, New Florence; and Jeffrey L., married to Nancy (Stevens), Pennsville, N.J.; grandsons, Matthew, and wife, Kathryn; Aaron, and wife, Allison; Benjamin; and Nicholas; great-grandson, Riley; stepgrandchildren, Heather Grove and Jason Smith; brothers, Robert J. Thomas, married to Margaret (Rankin), Laurel, Miss.; and Paul F. Thomas, and friend, Barb, Fredericksburg, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1948 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. Member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, and former Jerome Lutheran Church. Also a member of American Legion Post 945. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard. The family would like to thank Golden Living and Windber Hospice for all the excellent care provided for Don. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Traci Bowman, presiding. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery, Jerome, with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard. Donations in Don’s memory may be sent to Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church or Windber Hospice.
