Suzanne S.  Muir (Mistrano)
MUIR – Suzanne S. (Mistrano), 88, Johnstown, died Oct. 22, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 10, 1926, in New York, N.Y., daughter of John and Louisa (Amato) Mistrano. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Carl E. Muir Sr.; second husband, David D. Rininger; daughter, Christine (Muir) Edwards; sister, Reina Mistrano; brother, Joseph Robert Mistrano; and granddaughter, Patricia (Varner) Hamdan. Survived by loving children, Karen, married to Terry Varner, Monroeville; Carl Muir, married to the former Ginger McClain, Somerset Pike; John Muir, married to the former Sally Smith, Davidsville; James Muir, married to the former Cindy Malec, Johnstown; and Robert Muir, married to the former Jeannie Veres, Murraysville; grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as “Mommy Sue,” Terry Jr., Kathy, Candy, Susie, Casey, Heather, Mallory, Holly, Megan, Michael, Maria, Jessica, Jacob and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sahar, Mariah and Skyler; and sisters-in-law, Grace and Dorothy. Suzanne was a hostess at the former Wheeler Cadillac and Encore Restaurant, both of Johnstown. Lifetime member of Benscreek Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Bible school for 15 years. Her family was the most important part of her life and to whom she leaves a lasting legacy of love and respect. Viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Benscreek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor Larry C. Hoover, presiding. There will be no viewing at the church. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
