Obituary for William E. Thomas

THOMAS-William E. “Will”, of Canton, MI entered into the kingdom of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2022. Born October 27, 1963 in Morgantown, WV. Son of William G. Thomas of Boswell and Georgia E. (Zimmerman) Thomas of Bakersville. He attended Romulus Comm. School, Romulus, MI and Huron High School, New Boston, MI where he graduated from in 1981. Will attended Michigan State University majoring in Commercial and Graphic Arts. He worked for Meijers, Inc. before entering the auto parts industry, where he rose to the level of shift manager, moving through several plants prior to the work being moved to Mexico. In 2015 he suffered a stroke which left him permanently disabled. At that point in his life, he dedicated himself to the protection, care and education of his daughter, Gillian Marie. Will was an avid collector of articles dealing with the comic book industry, meeting with several of the industry’s prominent drawers and inkers. His collection of books, prints and figures was large enough to require storage. Will was known for his love of music, hockey and his abundant knowledge of super heroes and science fiction. Will leaves behind his parents; wife Michelle and daughter Gillian Marie both of Canton, MI and sister Jennie R. Jamieson of Morgantown, WV. Also survived by nephew Mason J. Jamieson, Jennerstown; cousin Robert K. Thomas, Boswell and several other cousins and uncle Elmer Zimmerman in MI. “for men must never feel a cause is hopeless-must never feel an enemy cannot be beaten”-Stan Lee. A graveside service will be held 11AM Tuesday at Jenner Crossroads Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Ritenour officiating.
