Obituary for Wanda Fay Wheeler

WHEELER - Wanda Fay (Ream), 85, Jennerstown, went to be with the Lord October 15, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Dillsburg. Born January 2, 1937 in Jenner Township. Preceded in death by parents, G. Cleve and Alice (Wagner) Ream; son, Eric Ray in 1977, and loving husband of 65 years, Victor L. Wanda came from a large family where she was the youngest of eleven children, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Preceded in death by all her siblings, Drue (Nona), Donald (Carol), Kenneth (Martha), Budd (Betty), Nevin (Milly), Clyde (Lenadelle), James, Althea, Twila, and Joylene (Dale). She is survived by her son, Craig, of Jennerstown, and her daughter, Roxanne, married to Gordon Daniel, of Dillsburg; grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Daniel; Ashlynn (Wheeler) married to Christian Wilkins and their children Caden and Walker; and Justin Walker; sisters-in-law, Irene Ream, Eva Wheeler, Tanis married to Bob Lepley and Penny married to Wayne Wiltrout and many nieces and nephews. Wanda was a 1954 graduate of JBJ Joint High School, Boswell and actively helped in the planning of many reunions over the years. She was a co-founder of the Jennerstown Fall Festival and Chairman of the annual parade beginning 1978. She sang in the Jennerstown Community Chorus for over thirty years and also in her church choir. She loved to plant flowers and tomatoes. Wanda also loved to travel and enjoyed many group trips with friends Bonnie, Alice, and Donna, along with multiple trips with her friend Linda. Her past employers were Dr. F. Ray Ellis Sr., dentistry in Somerset, The Country Store, Jennerstown, and Greystone House, Boswell. She also volunteered at Laurel View Village for 6 years and was a lifetime member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. She had many friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Viewing from 1PM until time of service 3PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St, Boswell with Vicar Allen Stump presiding. Interment Jennerstown Lutheran Cemetery.
