Obituary for Virginia K. "Jenny" Matkoskey (Koba )

MATKOSKEY – Virginia K. “Jenny” (Koba), 63, Acosta, succumbed to her fight with cancer on February 21, 2021, surrounded by her family at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 9, 1957 in Illinois. Daughter of Metro and Violet (Strickler) Koba. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Glen “Butch” Kimmel and Carey “Iggy” and Terry Koba. Survived by loving husband of 35 years, David; daughters, Christina, married to Kenny Keepes and Danielle; grandchildren, Henry and Evie; one “fur” grand-baby, Nina and additional siblings, Patty, Randy, married to Lori Holiday, Jack and Rosemary “Red” Bellinder. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Jenny was a bedrock of the Gilmore Manufacturing Company for 29 years and famous across southwestern, PA for her pies, gobs and pumpkin rolls. Renowned for her green thumb, Christmas cookies, Halloween costume seamstress abilities and five-star breakfasts. Jenny is most fondly remembered for her genuine heart of gold, youthful honesty and love for all of God’s creatures.
