HORNER – Verna June (Kaufman), 80, Jenner Township, died December 27, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born June 18, 1940 in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County. Daughter of Richard J., Sr. and Reda P. (Alwine) Kaufman. Preceded in death by parents; sister Rachel and sister-in-law Marilynn (Woy) Kaufman. Survived by husband of 57 years Harvey R. Horner, Sr.; son Harvey, Jr. and wife Dawna, Jenner Township; daughter Linda married to Brian Yoder, Conemaugh Township; grandchildren Renee, Cody and Joshua Horner, Rebecca Yoder and fiancé James Doverspike and Ryan and Dan Yoder; great grandchildren Madison and Chase Graham; brothers Richard, Jr. “Junior” married to Debbie (Fritz) Kaufman, Bolivar, Ellis married to Shirleen (Eash) Kaufman, Conemaugh Township and Allen married to Gloria (Gindlesperger) Kaufman, Friedens and numerous other relatives. Graduate of former Johnstown Mennonite School. Life member of Thomas Mennonite Church. Former Cook at Camp Sequanota. Verna enjoyed quilting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. A private family viewing will be held Wednesday. A public viewing will be held from 10AM until time of service 11AM Thursday at Thomas Mennonite Church with Pastor D. Wayne Lasure presiding.
