THOMAS – Velmer F. “Boots” (Kennell), 90, formerly of Thomas Mills, died February 26, 2023 at Country Manor, Jerome. Born February 8, 1933 in Randolph. Daughter of William, Sr. and Leora (Miller) Kennell. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Wade L. Thomas; son, Barry Thomas and sisters, Jane Brown and Sandra Staats. Survived by daughters, Lori Farabaugh and Terri married to Daniel Blackburn; grandchildren, Dan, Autumn, Colleen, Keith, Cheryl, Jordan and Janelle; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings William Kennell, Jr. and wife Myrtle, Donna married to Roy “Pete” Sheeler and Robert Kennell and wife Linda and daughter-in-law Jill Hockycko. Boots was a 1951 graduate of JBJ Joint High School, Boswell and a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene, Boswell. She enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. Her specialty was ham pot pie. Viewing from 10AM until time of service Noon Wednesday, March 1 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville with Pastor Nathan Zipfel presiding.
