CHESTNEY – Timothy R., 74, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, died June 19, 2023 at his home. Born October 10, 1948 in Oneonta, NY. Son of Ivan Chestney and Lena (Evans) Stark, both deceased. Survived by wife of 45 years Darlene (Thomas) Chestney whom he married on October 12, 1977. There were no children. Tim is the brother of Ivan, Jr. “Chet”, deceased, and his wife Carla of Coldwater, Miss., Larry, deceased, and his wife Wilma of Groveland, FL, Ron and his wife Beverly of Leesburg, FL and Connie Smith and husband Bryant of Hudson, FL. His father and mother in law are Dorsey and Joyce Thomas. His brothers and sisters in law are Marilyn (Bill), Orville (Linda), Beverly (Terry), Karmela (Darin), Imogene (John), Evelynn (Charlie), Sherman, Laransa (Christine) and Aronald. There are also 12 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Tim went to school in Oneonta, NY and Pine Hills, Orlando, FL. He was a US Army veteran having served from 1967-1974 in Okinawa, Vietnam, Kentucky, Korea, Colorado and Germany. He was then honorably discharged and was a mechanic in Oneonta, NY and in Florida he worked in various auto parts stores. He also built houses from beginning to end and was an over the road truck driver, having been in all but 4 of the 50 states. As per his wishes, there will be no viewing or service.
