Obituary for Thomas E. Platt

PLATT – Thomas E., 65, Hyasota, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on January 27, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 25, 1954 in Johnstown. Son of Thomas E. and Hazel V. (Wilde) Platt. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Gloria Johnson and Connie Garth and brother Elmer Platt. Survived by wife of 42 years Bonnie L. (Thomas) Platt; children Amanda married to Mike Walters, Jerome and Adam, Hyasota; grandchildren Julie, Aiden, Michael and Alyssa; brother John and wife Stacy, Cresson; sister-in-law Donna Platt, Hyasota; numerous nieces and nephews; friend Skinner King, Hyasota and many other good friends. A 1974 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. Retired employee for Laborers Local Union 910. He was a longtime baseball coach for the Hollsopple Little League. Tom enjoyed working on Husqvarna Tractors, mowing grass and was the self-appointed “Mayor” of Hyasota. He liked fishing and watching old westerns on TV. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan but he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Viewing from 2-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 10AM Friday.
