Obituary for Stephen J. "Big Steve" Furman

FURMAN – Stephen J. “Big Steve”, 75, Acosta, passed away October 19, 2022 at his home. Born March 15, 1947 in Acosta. Son of Frank and Julia (Wojcik) Furman. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother, Joseph. Survived by wife of 46 years, Frances “Fran” (Blucas) Furman; sons, Stevie Furman and Brian “Bam” and girlfriend Amber Clark; granddaughter, Channing Furman; sisters, Victoria widow of Joe Crimone and Kathy married to Donald Janidlo; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins including special nephew Jason Janidlo and special cousin Tony Tulenko and best friend Dean Gindlesperger. Steve was a 1965 graduate of Jenner-Boswell High School. A U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam War. He was a proud member of 669 Sprinkler Fitters Union where he served a 4-year apprenticeship through Penn State University. He was a life member of Jenner Rod & Club. Steve enjoyed playing guitar, which he did for over 60 years, and listening to music very loudly. He especially enjoyed listening to his favorite bands Day by Day and Smith & Co. Viewing from 2-6PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell. At Steve’s request, there will be no funeral service.
