Obituary for SFC Timothy Lynn Spangler

SPANGLER – SFC Timothy Lynn, US Army (Retired), 66, South Pittsburg, TN formerly of Jenner Township, died Sunday, March 8, 2020 in Tennessee. Born April 15, 1953 in Johnstown. Son of Charles F., Sr. and Marjorie E. (Fawks) Spangler. Preceded in death by parents and brothers John Allen Spangler and Charles F. Spangler, Jr. Survived by wife of nearly 44 years Debbie (Coughenour) Spangler; sons Kevin R. Spangler, Sr., Salisbury and Jonathan C. Spangler, South Pittsburg, TN; grandchildren Adrianna Lynn Spangler, Kevin R. Spangler, Jr., Lillian Mae Spangler, Gabrial William Spangler, Chloe Hilda Spangler, and Emily Marie Spangler; sister, Mrs. Mary E. Wright, Norman, OK; aunt, Mrs. Jane Fawks, Elyria, OH; sister-in-law Karin Spangler, Shermansdale and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tim was a longtime farmer and land conservationist. He served honorably with the United States Army with 27 years 7 months total service. He served on the Pennsylvania Angus Association Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors of the Somerset County Beef Producers, and was a member of the Somerset County Junior Livestock Sale Committee. He had been a member of the Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, near Gray, where he served on the church council as President and the church cemetery board. Tim was currently a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Jasper, TN. He was also a proud endowment member of the National Rifle Association. Tim was a man of integrity and respect. Viewing from 10AM until time of service 12PM noon Wednesday, March 18th at Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, 1209 Keysertown Road, Boswell with Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer presiding. Interment Jennerstown United Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors by PA National Guard. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Boswell.
