SMITH – Rose Marie (Kozel), 95, Acosta, died February 13, 2022 at The Patriot, Somerset. Born August 16, 1926 in Acosta. Daughter of Phillip and Rose (Bobish) Kozel. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 53 years, Chester Smith on February 6, 2003; sister, Josephine Zanoni and her husband Rudy and nephew, Barry Giffin. Survived by cousins, John Bobish and Vickie Butchko; niece, Dee Giffin; close friends, Debbie DiFlori, Lois Baraniak and Doug and Judy Dill and their family; godchild, Theresa Marie DiFlori; good friend and neighbor Bill Pannunzio and caregivers, Mimi, Carol, Judy and Peggy. Rose was a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School. A Floor Girl for former Nancy Carol Garment Factory, Boswell. Faithful member of All Saints Catholic Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed cooking and baking, watching baseball and football and playing the slots at the casinos. Rose was a very friendly and fun-loving person who enjoyed socializing with others. The family would like thank the staff of Patriot Manor for the care given to Rose.
