Survived by children Joseph (Karen), Mark, Rosanne Novak (David), David (Roseann) and Gregory (Sharon); grandchildren Larissa Dahroug (Omar), Rachel Nolan (Tim), Mary Beth Donovan (Jason), Amanda Reighard (Eric), Nicholas Funyak (Kirstie) and Dana, Michael and Derek Funyak; great-grandchildren Daniel and Riley Nolan and Avalee and Miles Reighard; sister Helen Peduzzi (Francis); brothers Joseph, Andrew (Linda), Paul (Gloria) and Theodore (Joann); sisters-in-law Pat and Betty Deskevich and Florence Bender; brother-in-law Philip Funyak (Irene) and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1948 graduate of former Nanty Glo High School. Former member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Monroeville. Current member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville. She was employed as a Day Care Operator at Monroe Bowl and Miracle Lanes, Monroeville. Rose loved children and was very artistic. She often had arts and crafts activities planned for the children at the bowling lane. Even though she worked at the day care, she never turned down an opportunity to baby sit and mentor her own grandchildren. Rose loved spending time with her family and was often found in the kitchen cooking and making sure everyone had a full stomach. She also enjoyed caring for her flowers and watching ice skating, golf and the Pittsburgh Steelers on TV. She had a big heart and an infectious sense of humor even after suffering a debilitating stroke eleven years ago that left her unable to speak. Through her loving smile and mannerisms she was still able to touch many lives, including the staff at Laurel View Village. Rose was an amazing person! The family would like to thank the staff of Laurel View Village and Windber Hospice for their compassionate care. Viewing from 2-6PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held 2PM Sunday. Funeral Mass 10AM Monday at St. Anne Church, Davidsville with Fr. Peter Crowe, Celebrant. Private committal of urn at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg at a later date.
