Obituary for Robert G. "Bob" Williams

WILLIAMS – Robert G. “Bob”, 90, of Davidsville, passed away peacefully April 11, 2024 at Laurel View Village. Born August 14, 1933 in Johnstown, the son of Percy and Amy (Murphy) Williams. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 69 years, Angela D. (Dill) Williams on March 23, 2024; son, David Williams; grandchildren, Christopher Schaefer, Aaron Borodach and Angela Boratko and 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by children, Lynn married to Dan Gray, Alayne married to Gary Boratko and Roger Williams and wife Lisa; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. At a young age, Bob went to work to help support his family and he carried this work ethic throughout his life. He was a selfless provider to his family and always led by example, instilling his work ethic in his children. His projects always became teachable moments to build their skills to carry with them throughout their lives. He was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Bob was a welder and machinist, by trade, having worked for Miller Picking and Penn Machine and retiring in 1995. He was an avid gardener but his favorite pastime for many years was bowling. The highlight coming when he rolled a 300 game at Westmont Lanes. For decades, he bowled with his same group of friends, was a member of several local bowling leagues and traveled with his friends to many bowling tournaments. He was also a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville and St. Andrews Council 11308 Knights of Columbus. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held 2PM Tuesday. Funeral Mass 11AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Aron Maghsoudi, Celebrant. Committal St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Geistown.
