Obituary for Robert Lewis "Bob" Moranduzzo

MORANDUZZO - Robert Lewis “Bob”, 58, Stoystown, passed away December 17, 2021 at his home. Born May 23, 1963 in Davidsville. Son of Robert Lewis and Carol Elaine (Maust) Moranduzzo. Preceded in death by parents; grandparents, Lewis and Mary (Brown) Moranduzzo and Cecil and Virginia (Bluebaugh) Maust and father-in-law William Burkey. Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Lisa A. (Burkey) Moranduzzo; son Adam Robert and wife Jennifer (Mazey) Moranduzzo; daughter, Laura (Moranduzzo) Bailey married to Jennifer Bailey; granddaughters, Carolyn Spiker, who Pappy called his "Peanut" and Zoey Borelle; sister, Lisa Moranduzzo and her fiancé, Tony Richards; mother-in-law, Dorothy (Ferre) Burkey; brother-in-law Mark Burkey and wife Tina (Speicher) and faithful German Shepherd, Mia who Bob would wake up early for and throw the ball to, before he went to work. Bob graduated from Conemaugh Township High School in 1981. He grew up in Davidsville with his childhood friends, Joe, Mike and Nick. He married his high school sweetheart, who was also in the same graduating class, and they’ve been together since their freshman year of high school. Bob played football and was a wrestler in high school. This created a passion that led him to coach both sports, starting in high school when he worked with elementary wrestlers. He also had a passion for automotive technology and painting and was the owner of Bob's Frame & Auto Body before becoming an Automotive Technology Instructor at Northern High School in Accident, Maryland, where he coached both football and wrestling. Along with his son Adam, he was also co-owner and operator of Moranduzzo Inc. He coached at all levels from elementary, junior high and varsity with GRPWFL, North Star and Somerset schools. Bob was once asked what his win/loss record was for his years of coaching. He said "I haven't won a game or match since high school, those wins are the kids wins.” Bob lived his dream of teaching and coaching what he loved. He watched his son and daughter excel in their given sports and never missed a game, match or meet. When he became a grandfather to his "Peanut" he was so proud and was very present in his granddaughter’s lives. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had the Moranduzzo sense of humor and was both very disciplined and caring to his family, friends, students, and athletes. Bob wanted to have a celebration of his life which will be held 1PM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Richland Fire Hall, 1321 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, PA 15904. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Donations in Bob’s memory may be sent to your local football or wrestling booster organizations.
