Obituary for Robert W. "Speedy" Friedline

FRIEDLINE – Robert W. “Speedy”, 79, Jennerstown, passed away October 11, 2021 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born October 8, 1942 in Ligonier. Son of Elmer W. and Verda Glea (Snyder) Friedline. Preceded in death by parents and wife Betty J. (Reed) Friedline. Survived by children, Troy and fiancé Wanda Rozinsky; Matthew married to Melissa (Baker) and Teri married to Jody Mostoller, all of Jennerstown; grandchildren, Maleah married to Jeffery Gindlesperger, Boswell; Libby Mostoller, Atlanta and Mackenen Friedline and wife Riley, England; great-grandson, James Gindlesperger; sisters, Connie married to Jay Volk, Boswell and Carol married to John Barbera, Somerset. Speedy was a 1960 graduate of J.B.J. Joint High School, Boswell. He began his career as an Auto Body Instructor for Somerset County Technology Center and retired as Director of Administration. While he was employed there, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. He also taught a class for the University. A member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Jennerstown. Past president of Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department. He served on the Jennerstown Borough Council and Jennerstown Water Authority and was a Police Officer for Jennerstown Borough. He enjoyed restoring cars, doing home remodeling and spending time with family. Viewing from 4-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell. Funeral service 11AM Friday at Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Gary W. Anderson presiding.
