DURST – Robert K. Sr., 89, Johnstown, died January 10, 2023 at Windber Woods. Born January 1, 1934 in Jenner Township, Somerset County. Son of Abraham and Nellie (Bowden) Durst. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Dorothy (Livingston) Durst; son, William B. Durst; sisters, Thelma Rader, Kathryn Warnick and Melda Shaffer and brother, Clarence Durst. Survived by wife of nearly 25 years, Katie L. (Kabina) Spory-Durst: daughters, Brenda Shuman (Robert), Sally Montgomery and husband Albert, Stacey Tressler and husband Ken and Lisa Ruffing (Randy); son, Robert Durst, Jr. and wife Gay; grandchildren, Jason Shuman and wife Jennifer, Jennifer Price, Fred Durst and wife Brandy, Melissa Durst, Allen Durst, Justin Tressler, Jerricho Tressler and Matthew Ruffing and wife Amber; great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Brooks and Brenden Shuman, Isaac and Olivia Durst, Aley and Braden Ruffing and Dawson Price; step-children, Laura Young and husband, Robert, John Crabtree, Jr. and wife Erisa; step-grandchildren, Amber Lawson and husband Glenn, Heather Ely and husband Dustin, Ronald Dunmyer, II and wife Tara and Cathy and Michael Crabtree; step-great-grandchildren, Glenn, Paul, Autumn and Aaron Lawson, Benjamin Smith, Noah Ely, Brenden and Hailey Dunmyer; sister, Wilma Durst and husband John and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel, Corp., Johnstown with 32 years of service as a Crane Operator. Member of Tire Hill Covenant Brethren Church and Woodmen of the World. Bob enjoyed doing yardwork, woodworking, working on cars, camping and collecting antique model cars. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Saturday with Pastor Brian Simmons presiding.
