Obituary for Richard F. "Dick" Lambert

LAMBERT – Richard F. “Dick”, 88, of Hollsopple, went to be with the Lord, January 16, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born November 17, 1932 at the family homestead in Hollsopple. Son of Burton and Sadie (Pugh) Lambert. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Audrey D. (Harker) Lambert; sons-in-law John Jurgensen and Barry Marone; brother Burton Lambert and sisters, Elizabeth Shaffer, Goldie Nichols and Minnie Hoffman. Survived by daughters, Sherry Jurgensen, Urbana, Ohio; Sandy Marone; Kathy (Richard) Hoffman; Pam Lambert, all from Hollsopple and Kim (Alan) Brewer, Newton, NC; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and brother Grant “Lou” Lambert, Somerset. Dick was a 1950 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. A former coal miner and owner of Western Auto Store, Davidsville. January 2021 marked Dick’s 50th year as Pastor of Christian Assembly, Hooversville, where he carried out his duties with total dedication to both his congregation and the Lord he served. Although he had a lot of different titles; Daddy, Pappy, Uncle Dick, Brother Dick, Pastor…the one that he treasured the most was Child of God. An avid outdoorsman, he was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening. He would travel far and wide to bag a trophy buck or black bear. He spent hours a day sitting on his favorite bench at the Windber Sportsman’s pond, reeling in fish after fish. For many years, he volunteered for the PA Fish Commission and Beaver Creek Trout Club, stocking the local streams. He loved “his girls” and the huge family that surrounded him. The leader of our clan, he was generous beyond measure and always there when you needed him, with his quick wit and great sense of humor. There’s a hole in our hearts today. We’ll miss him more than we can say, but one thing is certain, he’s where he has longed to be, where he is no longer in pain, where he can be once again with the loves of his life, Jesus and Audrey. A public viewing from 6-8PM Thursday at Christian Assembly, Land Street, Hooversville. A private funeral service will be held Friday at the church. Interment Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Donations in Richard’s memory may be sent to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
