Obituary for Patti A. Besyk

BESYK – Patti A. (Coughenour), 67, Hollsopple, went to be with the Lord after a battle with pancreatic cancer on November 19, 2021. She wanted to leave this world praying she made it a better place. Born April 20, 1954 in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Karl M. and Betty Jane (Sipe) Coughenour Survived by the “best husband in the world”, Frank E. Besyk, whom she married August 5, 1972; #1 son Brett E. married to Jennifer (Bendik) Besyk; much beloved granddaughter Julianna Rose; brothers, Harold married to Sue (Holsopple) and their children Karla and Krista, Ronald married to Brenda (Yoder) and their children Ron, Jr. and Laurie and Terry and his children Rachael, Hannah, Elisheba and Makayla and pet puppies Mindi and Rubi, who never left her side. Patti was a 1972 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School and a 1973 graduate of Greater Johnstown Vocational Technical School having received an LPN degree. She also earned a degree as a Veterinary Technician. She traveled and preached as a Lay Worship Leader in the Allegheny Lutheran Synod from 2001 to 2018 and then North American Lutheran Church to present, which was, in her words “One of the most rewarding things ever done.” She was employed by Dr. William Gress of Davidsville (1981-1991) and PenMar and Laurel Highlands Veterinary (1992-1994). Patti also owned and operated Precious Pets Deluxe Boarding Kennel (1995-2015). Member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Hooversville, the Philanthropic Education Organization and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Patti wanted to leave this world praying she made it a better place. The family would like to thank the staff of Windber Hospice for the wonderful care given to Patti. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10AM until time of service 11AM Monday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church with Pastor Nila Cogan officiating. Interment Maple Spring Cemetery.
