Obituary for Otis J. Simmons

SIMMONS – Otis J., 73, Boswell, passed away September 4, 2021 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born October 21, 1947 in Flint, MI. Preceded in death by mother, Genevieve (Giles) Simmons; infant son, John Simmons and brother, William “Bill” Simmons. Survived by wife of 52 years, Lynnette (Palazzi) Simmons; children, Ted of Friedens, Marie Simmons-Lamb and husband Brian Lamb of Raleigh, NC, Megan and husband Brandon Fulmer of Boswell, Michael of Boswell and William of Boswell; granddaughter, Alexis Fulmer; sister, Jackie and husband Jack Kimmel of Somerset; sister-in-law Madeline Blamble of Milton, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Otis was a 1966 graduate of Jenner-Boswell High School. A U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam War. Former coal miner for over 20 years. Retired employee of Derry Stone Quarry. He was also a self-employed plumber. Member of New Baltimore Sportsmen, Greater Ferndale Sportsmen, and Somerset Post 181 American Legion. Otis enjoyed his special time with friends and cooking Sunday dinners for his family. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Friday with Rev. Fr. Aron Maghsoudi presiding.
