Obituary for Nellie Mae Weimer

WEIMER – Nellie Mae (Sipple), 89, formerly of Boswell and Somerset, passed away peacefully of natural causes June 17, 2023 at Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale. Born February 18, 1934 in Meyersdale. Daughter of Lester R. and Nellie J. (Aul) Sipple. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert M. Weimer, Sr. in 2018; brothers, William, Calvin and twin brother Lester Ray; sister, Elva Engleka and grandson, Brandon Ray Thomas. Survived by children, Elva married to Raymond Turner, Robert and wife Elaine Weimer and Wanda Thomas; grandchildren, John Turner and wife Yvonne, Michelle Eastly and husband Brian, Kristi Fisher and husband John, Amy Marteeny and husband Mark and Seth Thomas and wife Julia; great-grandchildren, Brenda, Michael, Robert, Quinn, Ashley, Elyssa, Alex, Meghan, Asher, Chandler, Preston, Libby, Kendall and Seth, Jr.; special friends, Ed and Ruth Ann Sarver, Ruth and Earl Stevens, Bob and Carol Brown and Dorothy Showman. Mae was a former dietary aide for the Somerset State Hospital and owner of Weimer’s Fabric Shop. She was an accomplished seamstress, an excellent cook and baker who was especially known for her delicious pies. She loved to travel and went on many bus tours. Mae was an active member of Somerset Alliance Church and their small groups and was always willing to use her God given gifts for others. Viewing from 10AM until time of service 12PM Monday, June 26 at Somerset Alliance Church with Pastor Scott Ream presiding. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
