Obituary for Mary Lingenfelter

LINGENFELTER – Mary (Wasylczak), 89, Stoystown, passed away January 30, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born December 14, 1932 in Gray. Daughter of Peter and Anna (Drahusz) Wasylczak. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 51 years, Fred Lingenfelter; 7 brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. Mary was the last and youngest surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by daughter, Rochelle married to John Toth, Hooversville and several nieces and nephews and grand fur baby Murphy. Mary was a lifelong Democrat and was of the Protestant faith. She served as Stoystown Borough Committee Woman for 25 years and was a former Somerset County Democratic Vice-Chairwoman for 6 years. Member of the Democratic Women Federation of PA and was a 50 consecutive year voter in Somerset County. Former employee of Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory in Boswell, Schrader’s Drug Store, Koontz’s Economy Store and Fox’s Grocery Store, all in Stoystown. Mary enjoyed reading mysteries and books on angels and loved watching Westerns on TV. She also liked feeding and watching birds but especially enjoyed being Murphy’s Grammy. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Thursday with Pastor John Marshall presiding.
