Obituary for Marlin R. Mishler

MISHLER - Marlin R., 88, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Hollsopple, passed away April 25, 2022 at his home. Born February 13, 1934 in Soap Hollow. Son of Clyde Mishler, Sr. and Stella (Thomas) Mishler-Yoder. Preceded in death by parents; wife Nola (Hostetler) Mishler; brother Clyde Mishler, Jr. and sisters, Janet Mostoller and Ruth Friedline. Survived by daughters, Carolyn Rickard, Oakmont and Esther married to David Varner, Hollsopple; son Donald married to Beth (Wingard) Mishler, Richland; grandchildren, Jason Rickard (Allison Jordan), Alyssa Rickard (Steve Paul), Joshua Varner and wife Sarah, Jonluke Varner and wife Kara, Megan married to Adam Wassil and Holly married to Zachary Russo; great-grandchildren, Matthias, Thea and Marianna Varner; brother, Alan and wife Penny, Ohio; brother-in-law Richard Mostoller, Hollsopple; numerous nieces and nephews and close friend Brian Eppley. Marlin attended Conemaugh Township High School. He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. Also a former employee of B.J. Maurer Motor Co., Boswell and Township Pharmacy, Davidsville. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Hollsopple where he was a Deacon for 35 years. A former member of Connumach Lions Club. Marlin was an avid fan and supporter of all local sports, especially Conemaugh Township High School athletics and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. The family would like to thank all the local high school athletes that made Marlin feel so welcomed at their sporting events and other functions. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday and 10AM until time of service 11AM Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville with Pastor Guy Myers presiding.
