KOONTZ – Marietta L. (Pyle), 96, Blairsville, formerly of Boswell, died February 12, 2023 at Windber Hospice. Born November 5, 1926 in Boswell. Daughter of Arthur C. and Edna M. (Adams) Pyle. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lloyd E. Koontz on May 16, 1997; grandson, Bradley Lynn Koontz and brother, Ronald Pyle and his wife Grace (Saylor). Survived by son, Randall L. married to Barbara (Stern), Boswell; granddaughters, Natalie married to Joseph Felix, Holly married to C.J. Morgante and Dr. Marcie Koontz and partner Sam Malcolm; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Ryan Felix, Aleah, Arianna and Chad Morgante and Jaxon Malcolm and brother Jay married to Nancy (Ryniak), Friedens. Marietta was a 1944 graduate of Boswell High School. She was a former employee of Sammy Rogers Department Store, Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory and Sheftic’s Style Center, all of Boswell. She was also the Boswell Borough Tax Collector in the 1960’s and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell. She enjoyed being outside gardening, feeding and watching the birds and mowing grass and her favorite food was corn on the cob. Viewing from 5-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell. A private funeral service will be held Friday. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
