Obituary for Louis T. "Lou" Koharchik

KOHARCHIK – Louis T. “Lou” ,77, of Ferndale, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 8, 2021. Born August 25, 1944 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by step-father Jacob Radwanski; mother Ann (Koharchik) Radwanski; infant daughter Rose Marie Koharchik and sister Diane Gawel. Survived by wife of 31 years, Barbara E. (Ott) Koharchik; sons, John T. and girlfriend Theresa Parks, Windber; Louis A. married to Rebecca (Stirling), Johnstown and Jason E. married to Jaime (Vaccaro), North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Jessica married to Danny Walters, Shane Koharchik, Brandon Koharchik and wife Leanna, Jake Koharchik, Zack Koharchik and Olivia Stirling; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Judie married to Donald Gawel and Cindy married to James Mattern; brother, Jacob Radwanski and wife Karen, numerous nieces and nephews and former wife Madeline (Bucci) Adams. The family would like to thank Jessie, Marie and Steve of Windber Hospice for all their compassionate care. Lou was a 1962 graduate of Windber High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1963-1969. A retired employee of United Metals, Johnstown with 48 years of service. He also did carpentry work on the side and enjoyed fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of Christian Community Church, Boswell. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday with Pastor Michael A. Dunlap presiding.
