Obituary for Kimberly J. Bolton (Sterner)

BOLTON - Kimberly J. (Sterner), 59, Somerset, passed away May 8, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. Born June 15, 1961 in Somerset. Daughter of Harold, Sr. “Ike” and Carol (Blough) Sterner. Preceded in death by grandparents, Sterling and Harriet Blough and Clarence and Minnie Sterner and numerous aunts and uncles. In addition to her parents, she is survived by children, Kristin (Gregg) Pugh, Jessica (Gregg) and husband Derick Ryman, Kelsea Friedline, Austin Bolton and Chase Bolton; granddaughters Taylor Gobbel and Farrah Ryman; her partner of ten years Larry Hetrick; brother, Harold, Jr “Ike” and wife Jane Sterner; sister Kelly and husband Mark Chalovich; nieces Elainna and husband Jason Beck and Sydney Niecgorski and nephews Kyle “Ikie” Sterner and Luke and Nathan Chalovich. Kim was a 1979 graduate of Somerset Area High School where she played violin and flute for the orchestra and was a member of the swim team and the 4-H Club. She was a lifeguard at age 15 for Lake Gloria and Somerset pool then went on to become head lifeguard and pool manager for the Ramada Inn of Somerset. Kim was also a bartender for Somerset Post 181 American Legion. She was a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren but later went on to attend the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. She loved the Lord, her family, painting and refinishing antique furniture. A memorial service will be held 2PM, Saturday, May 15 at Middlecreek Church of the Brethren with Pastor John Knoll presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kim’s honor to the Humane Society of Somerset County or the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren.
