Obituary for Kashmire "Kaz" Vought

VOUGHT - Kashmire "Kaz", 29, of Summerville, SC passed away on October 3, 2021 at Trident Regional Medical Center, Charleston, SC. Born January 27, 1992 in Somerset to Jennifer (Conn) Barkley of Goose Creek, SC and Dennis Vought (Kim) of Central City. She is also survived by her sister Samantha Lawings (Julie), niece Gracie, brothers Tyler and Casey Vought and many relatives over the U.S. On June 28, 2004 Kaz’s life changed due to a motor vehicle accident. Prior to that she played soccer, was in the gifted and talented program at Shanksville School and was a score keeper and cheerleader for the Eagles Softball Team in Somerset. Kaz always strived to make people happy. Afterward, Kashmire graduated from Ashley Ridge High School in 2013, where she participated in Swamp Fest (5 yrs) and Summerville Miracle League (2 yrs) and was crowned Mayfest Queen. She was a resident of Coastal Regional Center in Summerville, SC. Kaz always enjoyed spending time with her mom and doing activities with her loving caregivers. As her final, selfless gift, based on wishes she made known when she was young, Kaz donated her body to MUSC Anatomical Gift Program. A celebration of life will be held 1PM Saturday, December 4 at New Beginnings Outreach Center, 7398 Somerset Pike, Boswell. Anyone wishing to share a story about Kaz is urged to do so as it helps in healing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Parents & Guardians Association of the Coastal Center, 9995 Jamison Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
