Obituary for Joyce Mae Ginter (Geisweidt)

GINTER – Joyce Mae (Geisweidt), 67, of Jennerstown, passed away July 13, 2021 at In-Touch Hospice, Somerset. Born May 27, 1954 in Somerset. Daughter of the late Eugene Walter and Leora Hazel (Lohr) Geisweidt. Survived by husband of 32 years Warren C. Ginter; daughters, Bobbie Shaffer of Somerset, Heidi married to Clint Fleegle of Jennerstown, Tarra married to Clyde Prince of Kittanning and Cortny married to Brian McCoy of Kittanning; grandchildren Spencer Zatko, Amelia Fleegle, Ryan Ginter, Race Prince, Katalena McCoy and Nova McCoy; brothers Donald Ray Geisweidt of Somerset, Dale “Bobby” Geisweidt and wife Lori of LaPlata, MD and Ronald Geisweidt of Jennerstown and sister Janet Marie married to Ron “Butchie” Shaffer of Hooversville. Joyce was a 1972 graduate of North Star High School and remained very close to her classmates. She was also a graduate of Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology, Johnstown. A board member of Camp Cadet of Somerset County since 2000. She was currently serving as Mayor of Jennerstown Borough, a position she held for the past 21 years. As Mayor, she loved and supported all the police officers. Joyce volunteered to raise funds for Hyatt’s Angels and was a life member of Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department. Also, a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Boswell. She attended and was part of the church family at Jennerstown United Methodist Church. Joyce enjoyed reading and crafting and treasured her times with her family, especially her grandchildren. Friends received from 2-6PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Monday with Pastor Chuck Hildbold presiding. Inurnment Mt.
