Obituary for Joshua C. "Dootie" Hillegas

HILLEGAS – Joshua C. “Dootie”, 30, Gray, passed away June 14, 2020 in Gray. Born June 21, 1989 in Latrobe. Son of J.C. and Tracy (Supanick) Hillegas. Preceded in death by grandfather H. Jay Hillegas and uncle Bruce Gallagher. In addition to his parents he is survived by loving wife Brooke (Miller) Hillegas; daughters Sadie and Maggie; grandmothers Dolores Hillegas and Barbara Supanick; sister Brittany Hillegas-Kowalczyk and husband Dave Kowalczyk; nieces Lexi and Alivia; special uncle and aunt Mark and Heather Supanick; father and mother in-law Bob and Thressa (Kubas) Miller; brother-in-law Adam Miller and wife Kim and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Josh was a 2007 graduate of North Star High School and a graduate of Somerset Career & Technology Center. Former employee of Augustine Tool and Die and Berkey Excavating. He then started his own excavating business J. Hillegas Excavating “JHX”. Member of Freedom in Christ Community Church, Somerset and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Partnership owner of T.E. Hearn Hunting Club. Josh enjoyed hunting, riding dirt bikes, spending time at camp and shooting sporting clays with his uncle Mark. He especially treasured time with his wife, daughters and family. Josh was the type of person who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Viewing from 2-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Boswell. Face coverings are recommended. Viewing also from 10 AM until time of service 11AM at Freedom in Christ Community Church with Pastor Stephen Onstead presiding.
