Obituary for Joseph "Smokey" Tomko

TOMKO – Joseph “Smokey”, 84, Hooversville, died July 25, 2023 at his home. Born October 13, 1938 in Wilbur. Son of Andrew and Anna (Druhaloski) Tomko. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Andrew, Robert, David and Richard Tomko; sisters, Ann Toma, Marge Klun, Delores “Dee” Peterman and Nancy Fello. Survived by wife of 62 years, Barbara (Holpit) Tomko, sons, Joseph, Jr. and wife Chris (King), Hooversville, Scott and wife Annette (Zborovancik), Hooversville and Stacey and companion, Doraetta (Trevarrow); grandchildren, Jeremy, Brennan, Ricky and Garret Tomko and Carley Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Leila, Linkin and Tanner Tomko; brother, Steve Tomko and sisters, Linda (Brian) Lievens and Diane (Roland) Wilt and numerous other family members. Smokey was a retired owner and operator of Tomko Trucking. Member of New Baltimore Sportsmen, Quemahoning Rod & Club and Stoystown Post 257 American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. A private service will be held at a later date.
