Obituary

Joseph Patrick Legarski died on July 12, 2020 at home. Born on January 15,1950 in Somerset. Son of Joseph M. and Ruth (Harris) Legarski. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by sister Dale Burkholder (Ralph), Central City; brother Ted Legarski (Antoinette) Glenmoore, PA and nephews Robert and Jeff Burkholder. Also survived by cousins Tom, Gary, John and Dottie Legarski and Lewis, Jackie and Cindy Avery as well as life-long friends Robin and Jennifer Wilson, Acosta. He was a 1967 graduate of Jenner Boswell High School where he played football. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Worked as a carpenter for local contractors before retirement. Joe loved people, animals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a kind heart and was well liked by everyone who knew him. No visitation or services at this time. Following cremation burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ralphton at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Humane Society of Somerset Co., PO Box 182, Somerset PA.15501. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Boswell.
