Obituary for Joseph Paul Donitzen Sr.

DONITZEN – Joseph Paul, Sr., 79, Davidsville, died October 6, 2022 at his home. Born March 19, 1943 in Jerome. Son of Paul P. and Anna S. (Murafka) Donitzen. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Donald and Frank and brothers-in-law Richard Georg and Dale Bennett. Survived by children Lisa Donitzen and spouse Mark Miller, St. Petersburg, FL, Tammy Young, Davidsville and partner Bill Bach, Geistown and Joseph P. Donitzen, Jr. and spouse Pamela (Moore), Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Kyle Siehl and spouse Kirsten (Ringler), Stoystown, Kory Siehl and spouse Kelsey (Smith), North Fork, Britany (Siehl) and spouse Clayton Nair, Jerome, Gregory Donitzen and fiancé Chris Lima, Washington, DC, Alexander Donitzen and fiancé Jackie Greeves, Frederick, MD; great-grandchild Isla Jane Siehl; girlfriend of 18 years, Jean (Gisewhite) Benson, Davidsville; former wife of 25 years, Shirley Ann (Marcinko) Donitzen, Davidsville; sisters, Lucille married to Ted Beahr, Hollsopple and Pauline Bennett, Somerset; sisters-in-law Martha Donitzen-Stephens, Ohio and Mary Louise (Guydo) Donitzen, Hollsopple and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joe was a 1961 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. Following graduation he worked as an Accountant for the FAA in Washington, DC. He retired as an Accountant for Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown with over 20 years of service. Member of Jerome Nest 556 Polish Falcons and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and playing horseshoes. Joe also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football and spending time with his family and loved ones. Viewing from 4-8PM Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Thursday with Pastor Gieta Gresh presiding.
