Obituary for John E. Williamson

WILLIAMSON - John E., 94, Davidsville, passed away November 8, 2021 at Laurel View Village. Born April 27, 1927 in Davidsville. He was the sixth and youngest child of James E. and Daisy Mae (Young) Williamson. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 65 years, Maxine (Barron) Williamson on March 23, 2017; daughter, Candace Lynn; son, Jeffry John; brothers, Carl and wife Sara and Robert and wife Elma and sisters, Grace Bowers and husband Virgil and Emma and Lois Williamson. Survived by daughter, Jewel Williamson-Burns married to Todd G. Burns, Pen Argyl; twin granddaughters Dr. Elizabeth M. Burns, Scranton and Haley W. Burns, Philadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews. John had resided at Laurel View Village, Davidsville for over 11 years and developed a host of good friends, especially Jack Punchur. He was a 1945 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School and a graduate of Cambria Rowe Business College. A devoted lifetime member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville, where he served on many committees and the church council through the years. A District Representative for Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent) for over 40 years, devoted to his clients and career. John was a charter member of Lutheran Brotherhood’s Hall of Fame and a lifetime member of their Million Dollar Roundtable. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing shuffle board and bocce ball with the men at Laurel View Village. Viewing from 2-5PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Funeral service 10AM Saturday at St. David’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Faron H. Johnson presiding. Family is requesting everyone wear face coverings for the viewing and service; some will be provided if needed. Interment Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville.
