Obituary for John M. Krajnak

KRAJNAK – John M., 65, Hollsopple, died July 1, 2023 at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born October 9, 1957 in Johnstown. Son of the late Michael and Florence “Flossie” E. (Johnson) Krajnak. Survived by sisters, Mary Jane Krajnak of Eugene, Oregon and Irzha Tai Krajnak of Jeanette, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. John was a 1975 graduate of Ford City High School and obtained a PhD in Anthropology from Penn State University. He was a US Army veteran and former professor at Penn State University. In his later years he became a self-employed contractor and painter. John had a great interest in history and was an active member of the Hooversville Historical Society. Formerly a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hooversville where he taught Sunday School and was a Bible study leader. Also a current member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Hooversville. In his spare time, John enjoyed baking and cooking. He was a good and faithful friend to those who will miss him greatly. He will also be missed by his pet cat Mickey. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15 at 11AM at St. Thomas Lutheran Church with Pastor Nila Cogan presiding. Inurnment at POS of A Cemetery, Hooversville.
